In the fall of 2001, Black Forest Shires and Gypsy Horses imported two Gypsy mares that we had chosen through pictures that Jeff and Chris Bartko and sent us online. I immediately fell in love with the two mares and couldn't wait to get them to the US. In February of 2002 they finally arrived. Three weeks later we brought them home from quarantine and we have been totally enamored with them ever since. These two mares are our foundation mares - April Love Hawke and Lucky Angel Hawke.
For Centuries, in England and the United Kingdom, the Romany Gypsy people developed this wonderful draft horse through selective breeding using Shires, Clydesdales, the Dale and Fell ponies and the now extinct Gallower ponies.
Whether being used for Western Pleasure, Dressage, Hunter/Jumper, Carriage Driving or just for fun, the Gypsy horse is the best all around choice as a family addition.

Prince Aidan Hawke is a 14hh, blue eyed,
Piebald Gelding, born at Shadowhawke in 2004.
Aidan is Homozygous for Black
and Heterozygous for Tobiano.
He is registered with
Gypsy Cob Society of America

Gypsy Horse Association.
Aidan's sire was "His Majesty", who,
unfortunately, passed away a few months
before Aidan was born.
His dam is our beloved April Love Hawke.
Aidan's bloodlines are rich in heritage with his
Grand Sire being "The Shogun Horse" and his
Great Grand Sire being the original "Kent Horse".
Aidan's first offspring, Lord Romeo,
was born May 6, 2008.
