In the peaceful acres of flowing green fields, there lives a magical mystical creature of dreams come true. From the corner of your eye, you seem to spot a trail of ghostly white almost floating above the ground. Breathtaking color wisps by. Thunder grows in the distance and comes towards you as the perfect sky reveals a single hawk soaring in time to the magical music in your mind. Emerging from the mist shrouded fields is the most enchanted horse you have ever seen - the Gypsy Cob. With long flowing mane and tail and cascades of long silky hair above powerful hooves, this fairy tale animal pauses just long enough to inquire about the hawk now perched on a nearby post. Within a whisper of thought, they merge as one, united in love and magic. In perfect harmony they continue their journey into your heart forever.
Welcome to Shadowhawke, where magical, enchanted fairy tale horses can come true in the Gypsy Cob.
Located in upstate New York, the Quay family has found the perfect equine companion in the Gypsy Horse. The Gypsy horse was developed by the Romany Gypsy people to pull their heavy wagon homes and to be a safe ride for their women and children. They have an easy way of going, gentle temperament and are very people oriented. They love attention and will look forward to the daily work expected of them.
Here at Shadowhawke, we raise and breed Gypsy Cobs. Our horses stand between 14H and 14.2H, but the breed can stand from 13H to well over 16H.
We have five Gypsy horses at this time - four mares and a stallion. All are registered with the Gypsy Cob Society of America. If you are interested in learning more about this fantastic breed, please visit The Gypsy Cob Society of America at www.gypsycobsociety.com or the American Gypsy Horse Breed Association at www.aghba.org.
If you are lucky enough to own one of these laid back, powerful, majestic horses, you will agree, that they truly do leave hoofprints in your heart!
